DRYKORN PRE-LOVED MARKET

Hey, Precious! Curated Second Hand @Drykorn

In the midst of the first heatwave in June 2026, we – together with Raum für Schönes Gerbrunn – hosted our first curated fashion second hand market. We wanted to see the potential of second hand for Drykorn while also enabling colleagues, friends and others to clean out their wardrobes. After all, second hand is first choice when it comes to circularity in fashion.

The market took place in Gerbrunn, near Würzburg. The space was lovingly set up: there were goodie bags for the first 20 guests and everyone could cool off with infused water, plenty of ice pops, and watermelon slices. By the time local indie duo Menzel took the stage, the heat was the last thing on anyone's mind. In the end, countless pieces found new owners, conversations turned into new contacts, and second-hand and circularity ran as the common thread through all of it.

The Value of Pre-Loved

What stayed with us most were all the good conversations. People talked about what makes a piece worth keeping and why a small flaw like a loose button or a faint mark doesn't have to mean the end of a garment's life. There is a great appreciation for well-curated second-hand – a good selection makes it feel just as desirable as buying new.
Several colleagues chose to donate their sales earnings to our fundraising pot for International Justice Mission (IJM e.V.), an organization that works to free people from modern slavery. In total, these donations added up to a meaningful contribution of about €1,000. Proof that there can be more value to second hand beyond decluttering closets.
